People who download TV shows or albums without paying for them are called ‘pirates’, as though they were cutlass-wielding maniacs attacking the innocent ships of vast media conglomerates. More wealth and time are spent battling this form of ‘piracy’ than the kind that involves hostage-taking off the coast of Somalia.
