Obamacare

Barack Obama’s plans to reform the American healthcare system were routinely called ‘Obamacare’ by Republicans, implying that the legislation was the eccentric whim of one man. The term was coined by journalists in 2007. The first politician to use ‘Obamacare’ derisively, also in 2007, was Mitt Romney.
