Middle class

Politicians always say they care most about the ‘middle class’. Any talk of a ‘working class’ (let alone an ‘underclass’) is bound to scare the horses, so everyone is simply deemed either already ‘middle class’ — including, according to Mitt Romney, people earning $200,000 a year — or aspiring to get into it.
