Double dip

If a recession is bad, imagine coming out of a recession only to plunge into another one. That is a ‘double dip’, which sounds like a) an extra coating of sherbert on your liquorice stick, or b) a pornographic exercise indulged in by decadent plutocrats to whom ‘austerity’ does not apply. Still more perverted — or perhaps delicious — is the prospect of a ‘triple dip’.
