PIGS

The whipping boys of the ‘Eurocrisis’ were the allegedly most reckless countries: Portugal, Ireland (and/or Italy), Greece, and Spain. They were soon lumped together under the bestial acronym PIGS, thus dehumanizing the ordinary citizens whom only a dose of ‘austerity’ could ever restore to full personhood.
